Friendship is one of life's great gifts and if you are honest with yourself we really have very few true friends in the course of our lives. With Eleanor's death I lost a friend. When I started in field trials Eleanor and her husband Albert made an interesting and charismatic pair. I could hardy believe my eyes the first time I saw Eleanor at a trial, she was so agile and nimble, she hopped over obstacles as quick as a flash and never seemed to walk, everything was done at speed. Albert in his day shot for Ireland, drove racing cars and Eleanor fished, shot, trained dogs, smoked cigars and drank whiskey. Not your typical Irish couple of the day.
